9To5Google first reported the removal of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 from the Samsung website on Thursday. Instead of listing the phone and its details, the website now simply reads, “The Galaxy Fold is no longer available for purchase on Samsung.com, however, please take a look at additional options in the Galaxy Family.” While the wording on the page says the Galaxy Fold, it does appear that the phone has been completely delisted from T-Mobile’s online store, though it does appear to be available through AT&T and Best Buy. Samsung hasn’t offered any official clarification on the discontinuation, but if true, it means that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was only available for roughly nine months after its release. The phone is also still available in the UK, according to 9To5Google. Perhaps the most important thing to note here is that the original Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G are still available to purchase in the United States. However, the Z Flip 5G hasn’t been available through Samsung.com for a while now.  With rumors that Samsung will announce a new foldable phone later this year growing in number, it is possible this move could add more fuel to the fire. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait and see if the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has been completely discontinued, or if the changes to the page were made by mistake.  We’ve reached out to Samsung for clarification, but have not yet received a response.
